I bought some wonderful butterfly fabric from a show ages ago & happened to have it on show when Heather came round (September 2007). She asked me to make her a cushion cover, for her bedroom! I finally finished it Mach 2008. I promised myself NOT to sew for anyone else again.
I embellished some of the butterflies, with seed beads & black french knots. I put some wadding under some of them, to make them a little bit 3D. I used the machine satin stitch to sew the body of the butterflies :)
I choose a shiny fabric for the back & simply added some gold coloured ribbon. I thought it gave a more bedroomy feel to the finished cushion.
